The 252-page paperback book A Little Dictionary of Crystallography is a printed snapshot of the contents of the Online Dictionary of Crystallography. The Online Dictionary arose from a suggestion by Professor André Authier, a former IUCr President and Chair of the IUCr Commission on Crystallographic Nomenclature between 2002 and 2014. It has gradually been building into a compendium of 'official' IUCr definitions of crystallographic terms. Its primary goal is to be a reference for authors and referees of IUCr Journals and for research professionals in general: but it will also be useful to students and to the general public.
