Event Name Symposium in the 87th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Biochemical Society
Start Date 15th Oct 2014 3:45pm
End Date 15th Oct 2014 6:15pm
Duration 2 hours and 30 minutes
Description Symposium Title:  Advanced Structure Determination Techniques for Understanding the Atomic Mechanism of Complex Biological Functions

Various methods for structural studies, such as X-ray crystallography (PX), X-ray small angle scattering (SAXS), cryoEM and molecular simulation, have been evolved very rapidly in the last decade. Combinations of these techniques reveal dynamic aspect of the molecular mechanism of biological macromolecular complexes based on the atomic structures.

This symposium celebrates the International Year of Crystallography (IYCr) in 2014 and will highlight several recent results on structural studies on membrane proteins and huge protein complexes by X-ray crystallography together with recent advance of important techniques for structural life sciences.
